K-Tec Induction kit worth the money

Simple question, is the k-tec / pipercross induction kit and relocation pipe worth the money for a 1.2 16v ??

I know its not going to give loads of extra power, I just want a little more power so I can edge out my mates 1.2 billabong lol cant stop laughing at that billabong :D and so I can well and truly cream another mates metro which hes spent thousands on yet I still under..... err overtook him easily down a motorway

What sort of power gain would I get ?
Is it easy to fit ?
Does it give a nice enginer sound ?

What would renaults opinion on it be ? Instantly void warranty on the engine ?

Cheers
RIOT

you can get better filters than the piperx vector that k-tec supply

but for show value the relocation pipe looks quality, still not sure how functional it is as i havent run mine without it yet

power gains - around 2-3bhp

yes, very easy to fit

the vector creates a whistle when operating at higher revs, not very loud though

keep the standard airbox, then refit when it goes back to reno, that way they are no warranty issues

Ok just as long as it doesnt sound like my mates old fiesta which sounded like a jet engine !!

Whats involved in removing the old box and fitting this ? How long does it take roughly ? And what tools will I need ?

its very easy to fit and im sure if you get stuck you could call ktec.

it does feel faster, and what with my stereo being f**ked recently...it does sound very nice, especially in high revs!

not sure how much the pipe really does, but as already said...it looks amazing!

to remove the old airbox you will need a 10mm socket (2x 10mm bolts at the top of the airbox)

takes 2 minutes to remove

and 5 minutes to fit the new one

thats got to be the understatement of the century.

I actually attacked the cone with a hammer to MAKE it fit :( pissed me off totally.

I would spend the £250 on the viper kit instead now given the choice

yeah i had to bend the top of the filter in the way a bit. then used some hairspray for lub(amazing stuff, and it dries hard)!

use hairspray (as used by the missus) thats what i used to use to put grips on and off my MX bike, dries totally unlike wd40 which will help it fall off as easily as it went on

Is the viper kit much better considering the price difference? Does it have a nicer sound and better performance gain?
