k-tec sports cat

anyone got a k-tec sports cat the one that goes with the ultra exhaust system? if so have you had problems come mot time??

i've heard giving it a good blast to get it red hot works. just curious if people have had problems with emission's?

yes it's 200 cell i have just heard of a fair few stories of emission failures with aftermarket sport cats :S

well i always give the car a good run before driving to the MOT station, make sure its running fresh fuel, good spark plugs and is nice and warm when they test it. A sports cat is less efficient than a standard one but a healthy engine should pass.

with the free'er flowing system and CAT it takes longer to get the heat into them so they're working efficiently hence driving it more before they test it.

I got mine fitted (172) last month with their supersport exhaust too but not due MOT until April so can't comment on that front.
So far it's perfect for me a nice growl when you want it and not too intrusive in the cabin

my mot is not due either till july just trying to find out if there is problems with the emissions if so i will put my standard renault cat back on

I kept my standard cat just incase, it was the only part of the standard exhaust worth keeping lol

Yes, they are 200 cell and should go through an emissions test no problem.
