K-Tec Stealth exhaust

J

Jim NM

I have just fitted my new K-Tec stealth SS exhaust, I had to dremmel off the two bolts on the cat end, apart from that no other problems fitting it except the back box is quite tight to get on, there is only just enough clearance to get the bent end over the rear beam thingy. They supplied a Rewanult gasket and bolts which was a nice surprise.

I am quite impressed with it, the quality is good, but not quite as good as a Scorpian exhaust. I had a Scorpian on my 5GTT which sounded really nice.

This one sounds good and is not too loud, which I like.
My next purchase will be a Sports Cat from K-Tec.

Thanks K-Tec:cool:

How much does the back box hang down below the rear bumper? Or is it completely hidden?

Video or audio clip!?

I am interested in the new Stealth but want to hear one in action first.

Is it loud at motorway speeds?

I don't know yet Gareth I have only just finished fitting it.. I reckon it's a good buy and doesn't sound too loud at all in the drive. No sticky out tailpipe which is a plus . IMO Tailpipes spoils the look of the car, especially if you fit one that sticks out below the rear vallance.

The Scorpian I had on my 5GTT was loud but pleasant. Totally different sound exhausts on turbo'd cars ( I loved the burble of my 5 )

You know what they say, You'll get plenty of quiet when you die LOL :)

You can't see it at all (if you fit it right). The hangers and brackets supplied you can adjust for an optimum fit.

David and his team at K-Tec seem to have put some thought into the design.

I would listen for knocking when you first drive test it as if it doesnt have much clearance over the rear beam it will bang against it. Mine did this for a while untill I had it refitted.

I have had a run round and no knocking !!! I need a couple of big fat lasses toin the back to test it proper LOL
