It wasn't a xr3i she had a series 1 turbo 1black the only 1 to rolloff the production line not white and a red rs1600i, (forum user bonkers) has them both along with aload of other classic fords including 2 E30 M3 Evo Sports that's done less than a 1000 miles one of which has done 92 miles from new.

And by royal decree, it was declared crack must be smoked before placing a bid on this old, scabby mk4 golf.

  Whichever has fuel
So if he's going to do this legitimately, He will need to pay VAT on his profit...

So thats a 51 plate billy base Golf. Probably worth about £1100 in the trade. Tops if its tidy. He claims to have taken it in part exchangeso would have paid about that for it.

He's now sold it for £48,000. So thats over £46,000 profit. Do we think he will be declaring the 20% VAT he has to pay on his gross profit??

Surely he will only have to pay VAT if he crosses the VAT threshold and 48k of whatever it is, is under that.

Its more likely to fall under tax as income but then private car sales are also exempt form capital gains tax.

I doubt the bidder will cough up anyway.
