Nimbus Grey 197
Right I have recently brought a 182 with cup packs on because of the problems I had with my 172 now the 172 I have had since 2012 its been serviced by myself and the cambelt is not due the car has been painted a bit and is nice I have recently put a gearbox in it as I cracked my old one however I have been having problems with the car since I put the box back in the drivers window will not go all the way up or all the way down and I have tried everything to try and get it working to no joy even changed the motor done the hold thing with the switch changed it tried lots of things hasn't worked then I have been having issues with it going into limp mode which comes up with throttle pedal issues however had put a new one on and no joy also every now and then I have issues with starting but have looked into this which could be my crank sensor.......
my initial plan was to buy a 182 cheep and to use it over winter in its standard form then to modify it to the same state as my 172 we swap the parts I can over I understand there would be bits that didn't fit then break the 172.. with the 182 costing the same money I decided if it turns out to be no good I can break it and at least get my money back. so my problem now comes with my 182..
the car I brought knowing it was a cat d and being in the trade I understand this sometimes not being an issue however, the bumper doesn't look right as it doesn't sit right due to there being no plastic reinforcement behind the bumper and it is cable tied to what I can only say used to be a straight crash panel which is twisted upwards pics to follow this will stop me fitting my tow hook for track days. the bonnet has dents in all the usual places but is quite bad there is lacquer peel above the passenger side window and rear window which is due to the side of the car being painted badly and the blend into the rear quarter being shocking however the car drives nice and there is no bumps or bangs and pulls really well the ac belt was squeaking when I got it so I have fitted the pms aircon delete kit which was something I was going to do to the 172 and if I decide to keep will get a new belt and put it on...
the things I worry about is the 172 I feel is going to be to much work to put right however I am going to have the parts I need of the 182 for instance the ecu uch and coder that's if it works which again if it doesn't I have stripped it down for nowt when the 182 doesn't look to good with the body work and it needs a cambelt.. I do a lot of car shows but want the best of both worlds of a nice looking track car sorry for the read and thanks for whoever would look to giving advised which ever car I decide to keep the other will be getting broke for parts pics to follow
