Keeping no claims without policy?

As I'm selling my car due to not really needing it, and my insurance for it expires on the 25th of this month, I might not bother renewing the insurance and keep it in my brother's unit.

Does anyone know how long you can not have an insurance policy, and keep your no claims? Google has no definate answer, and I know there's a few that work for insurance companies/brokers on here.

Yep its 2 years, i asked when i held my no claims to work abroad a few years back.
