Hi,
Just got a Kenwood head unit for my valver to replace the lovely standard tape player. I was wondering if it is possible to keep the steering wheel controls working if there is an adapter available and if i need to purchase an ISO block?

I would ring Halfords up but I hate them.

Any help would be great!

Cheers
Dan

yes mate, you can buy adapters, try ebay or ring halfrauds like you say. no idea of the cost though sorry mate

just got an iso adaptor off ebay for £2.50

the sony steering controls go for about £8, not sure about kenwood

you dont need an iso lead unless the loom has been cup just a smart lead which most shops sell for 30quid and a patch lead which is a fiver;)

do you know any decent online shops for this james? Ive never heard of a Smart lead or patch lead, what do these do?

most people in the trade refer to it as a smart lead but they are often labelled as a multistalk adaptor you may find the parts on ebay for cheap other than that my shop sells them and they are in stock;)

Well i need an iso adaptor and my wires havnt been cut.

All i have is a single red plug that is attached to the bulkhead and could never plug into any headunit

what clio do you have?

Is there an adapter out for a '94 valver to use the (behind) steering wheel controls with an old sony headunit? That'd be sweet!

Anyone got links to sites that sell them?

There's a 2.5/3.5mm socket on the back of the H/U for the steering wheel controls and i have a block connected to the end of the cable running to the steering wheel controls, so i need something to convert the block to a 2.5/3.5mm connector if that makes sense.

Cheers!

i think its a pc9 101 stalk adaptor for that year and you just need the patch lead which has a 3.5mm jack one end goes to the smart lead interface the other to the 3.5mm jack in the back of the h/u;)

Can you pick these up from Halfords/Motorworld etc?

I imagine they're a small fortune from there - cheaper elsewhere?

Might have to pick one up!

the patch and smart lead can be bought at both halfrauds and motor world but motor world is cheaper;)
