Key fob range

Dont known what the specific term is, so i'll say it in simple words...

basically the button on my key is used to unlock the door and lock the doors of my car.... well the range on it is pathetic, i have to walk like 2metres or less than that sometimes, to lock or unlock my door...

Is this normal, or is there a way of increasing the range? thx

Mine locks from a fair distance away tbh, maybe your batteries on it's way out. To increase the range put the fob next to your head

Mine locks/unlocks my car from my bedroom, my car is about 10 metres away in the street through about 2 walls lol

yea might be ur battery because mine used to unlock n lock from very far but now i have to stand on the car..

To increase the range put the fob to your head when locking and unlocking

Mine has pathetic range. Still easier than sticking the key in the door though!

Never heard of putting it near your head before.

i'd say 10-15m tops , remember when i first had the car it would work from more than that , but now its decreasing each time .

Nothing to do wit hthe battery, because i bought a new battery, and it still was the same distance. Both my keys are the same, one maybe 1 metre further, but still not enough.

If your with a mate get him to stand by your car, and you stand about 100 metres away, and press the fob button down the phone and see if it unlocks/locks your car. Random and pointless but its worth a try lol

What kind of batteries do the fobs take ?

And hav you got to get them programmed fter battery cahnge ?

Or you get away with it, if you do it quick ?

Mine works at about 10m, its a bit annoying cus i could be watching tv n itll be in my pocket and get accidentally pressed!

Someone has been watching Top Gear works as i did it from the inside ov the building to about 20
meter

I've come to the conclusion that all key fobs are different ranges, why is that? so stupid French ppl!
