KEY HELP URGENT

dunno if thiss the right section but...

i dropped my keys just now and the push button wont work now. I know i can use it as a normal key but the thing is i have no door knobs to lock the car with so have to go round to each individual door and lock it. Shouldnt the drivers door lock all of the doors!!?

Also, how do i go about fixing my key... arent they expensive? It cant be broken too much, i only dropped it after all. Any ideas, i cant seem to get the key open to have a look inside..?

dropping it has probably dislodged the battery. the key casings slide apart(look for the arrow symbol on the casing). open it up and make sure the batterys still clipped in place. locking the drivers door with the lock barrel wont activate the central door locking on the other doors.

ok got it open... this is whats happened

the little electric switch on the PCB has come de-soldered from the board thus making it useless. the joints have come away. can i fix it myself dya reckon?

about £50 for the key and you also need the dealer to code it in. probably about £75>£90 all in.

OMG!!! great, more expense. can they do it at my local olympian, i mean... its not a specialised person who has to do it?

how much for a new key?!
£21 I think but its about 3/4 hr work programming so £60 ontop.

Pop into an electric shop preferable a computer shop and ask them if thell do it there probably better at soldering. Evn if they charge you a £5 its cheaper than a new fob.

I repair keys all the time at work, easy 5 min job to do, nearly all the ones that have had this problem have been fixed.

Constantly get pestered to fix keys as no one else bothers:)
