Keyboard, back2front?

Did a clean install of XP about 2 weeks ago, noticed that some of the keys on my keyboard are all over the place.

Example the '@' key is actually obtained by pressing 'SHIFT & 2' instead of pressing the @ key on the keyboard.

Another example, if I was the " key, I need to press 'SHIFT & the @ key' on my keyboard.

It's driving me mad. Looked in the keyboard section under control panel, but just can't get it sorted.

HELP!

change the language to english UK, in the controll panel. its in accessories i think.


or just type keyboard language into help.

I haven't used windows for a hwile now but what it will be is you've set your keyboard up as a US keyboard which has the @ and the " in differet places. try to find the part in control panel and change it to a UK keyboard.

Should be reet.

its under regional settings IIRC

Go into Regional and Language Options, within control panel

Change everything from United States to United Kingdom

The most important bit I think is in the Languages tab, then Details. make sure you delete US after you add UK

Or use the shortcut "Alt-Shift" or "CTRL-Shift". I always catch them at work when using Alt-tab and switch the keyboard layout.
