Started taking the engine apart tonight, still can't find the piston. Obviously it's the third cylinder which went boom, but there is metal in all of them plus damaged valves in 3 and 4 (assuming cyl1 is drivers side)

It's blown a hole in the inner block/liner type thing and I've found some more fragments around the bay. It's also cut through some of the loom

In this case then, cyl2 is missing, cyl1 is full of water and also has fubard valves, cyls 3 & 4 full of fragments but would probably go round again

All going in the bin though

Oh also, tippex marks on cambelt and timing was out. Renault specialist apparently. No one ive heard of though
