I just picked up the new daily and wondered if anyone could help me with a few issues?

1- the passenger window doesn't go down. Haven't checked the fuse yet as I've literally just got home from collecting it but what could that be?

2- the boot doesn't open, however the lock does rotate as it should, and goes to the correct positions it's just as if the handle isn't doing anything

3 - the drivers lock only locks the door, and after wiggling the key in the lock something happened and the window went down (assume that's the trick where you hold the unlock the windows open). The passenger lock does however lock and unlock the car?

If anyone can advise me on what parts I need or how to solve the issue that would be awesome thanks!

It's so funny to drive in comparison to Boris. It's so so boaty.

Probably the switch for number one. Does it make a noise when you press it? If not probably the motor.

Yus Lupoo!!!

Paid £300 for my little red shitter. Paint is in a horrible condition, it rolls in corners like nothing else. something underneath rattles when you corner in 3rd (no idea what, nothing visibly loose), driving position sucks and its probably the slowest thing on the road to 60. Mines a 1.7 SDI.

Fortunately all My handles/locks/windows work as they should so I can't help, although that said passenger window is being temperamental, but then I never open it. I had to take the back seats out for my bike to fit in and removed the knackered hubcaps.

(its that ugly, this is the only photo i have of it, showing that my bike isn't a whole lot short than it..)

Glad you're enjoying it for what it is.

I really enjoyed the journey to work today and the fuel needles hasn't moved a smidge!

The body roll is hilarious but it's so comfy! Got some forte diesel treatment to go in then that's it for spending.

I imagine coming from the Clio it's unbelievably comfy!

Also when you hold the key to the right in the drivers door it should drop both windows, if it doesn't drop your passenger one then it's probably not the switch?

Isn't that the oldest line in the book?? Ha I like these, but imagine it's like walking compared to the 182!!

The Lock will need rebuilding, you can get repair kits from ebay, i had to do mine on my own 1.7sdi Lupo - currently on 250k(ish)

Yep, switch has gone for number 1. You can test by prising the module in the arm and swapping the connectors

Ironic that your Lupo has 11 year old girls in the boot. Who are unable to remember their own name.

What i'm trying to insinuate, is you're a child rapist. x

They were there when i bought it. Honest..

The switch doesn't work for the drivers side control or the passengers though. Just realised

Just an update on this.

Ive fallen in love with it, it's been incred reliable so far. I've had to change the thermostat and switch as it was reading cold but other than that.

It's £300 a year for insurance, £2 a month tax and I mainly run it on 50/50 mix of diesel and vegetable oil so it's stupidly cheap to run.

It's slow as f**king s**t but I can't bring myself to selling it due to it costing me peanuts to sell.

Ive done 10k in it so far and loved every mile!

Update on my cheeky little work horse.
Did 24k in it last year and I gotta say. It's been an absolute beast.

I just go anywhere in it purely down to it being so f**king economical.

On straight veg oil if I get it from Costco it's £16 for 20 litres which in summer when the viscosity of the oil is much lower I get an average of 330 miles to 20 litres. £16 for 330 miles

Crazy.

Last month someone went into the back of me which cracked the bumper. Their inurance company wrote Klaus off so I bought it back for the grand sum of £40...

Its slow. Its painfully slow with a few of you in it on veg. 0-60 with three of us on veg took 21 seconds. But my god for chucking things in and not caring about speed bumps, £30 tax and 75mpg you cannot complain.

Brakes are £20 for the set with discs. £10 tyres each (part worn) it's just ridiculously cheap motoring.

Tesco had oil on offer the other day so I tapped a bloke who works there on the shoulder and said I'll buy it all. Came out with this.... Hahah mint.

Thats crazy lol.

I take it its legal to use vegetable oil as fuel?
Yeah it's legal. You got to declare it and pay tax if you use over 2,500 litres a year.

So i'm getting 330 miles per 20 litres which is 330/20 = 16.5 miles per litre.

16 * 2500 = 41,250 a year purely on vegetable oil. Plus i'm running 3 cars so fortunately i'm fairly safe for now haha

Let’s be honest, how could they ever prove otherwise lol

So after a quick search you can buy these with MOT for around £300, £30 tax, it runs on veg oil, parts that cost peanuts, what's insurance like?

I think we might have a winner for the cheapest car to buy and run in the UK.

I've just done a quote for me for may time when I get my 7 year ncb and it came to £235

These are awesome! I had a 1.4 Arosa TDI... it used to get about 65mpg, i remapped it and that went up to 75mpg, pretty nippy once mapped and agree with the comments re: body roll !

I paid about £1300 for mine, sold it for £1700. I'm actually in the market currently for a cheap motor to run me to work and back so might look at these again... i would have to opt for the TDI over the SDI though!

Haha epic. Yeah the tdi looks great but my main concern is old high pressure fuel pumps, injectors and turbos.

I like how on the sdi it's so old school, injectors are about £20 a pop on ebay. No turbo to die, no expensive fuel pump etc.

Drove it today to work and f**k me it's a big shock to the system coming from the 182 haha

Any reason you'd get an SDI over a petrol? (Im assuming you can get it with a 1.2 petrol or something)
75mpg which you would struggle to get over 30mpg in the petrol. They're so under powered.

And running on veg oil at 70p a litre whereas petrol is what.. £1.20 atm I think? 50p a litre saving and the tank is 35 litres so that's £17.50 a tank saved.

More money for the boosted bus.

Top money saving tip:
When the weather gets too cold to run Veg oil, thin it down with red diesel  ___________ :car:________:policecar::policecar::policecar::policecar::policecar:________

what fuel pump do these run? Bosch?
