Knackered ipod

Been trying to update my ipod for a while now. All i get is the 'do not disconnect' display on the screen and itunes doesn't load up. If i load up itunes manually it just says the ipod is not connected!! I'm gutted, I only have 800 songs out of a potential 5000!!! Can anyone help?

tryed resetting or reformatting as it tells u in the manual ?

remove the ipod software, re-installed it, worked for me when I had the same problems.

There are various instructins for resetting your iPod etc.
