knackered starter motor?

for the past couple of weeks there has been a clicking sound when starting the car. Now when turning the ignition on the car isn't turning over at all. fuel pump is still priming.
Any ideas?

possibly immobiliser? have you tried your spare key?

took the immobiliser out last year. no i havent tried the spare yet. unfortunately car has been left in the car park where it died last night!

When you say clicking, do you mean when you turn the key the final turn to start the car it just clicks? Thats usually the solenoid getting stuck in the starter motor, you either have to carefully flick the ignition between 2/3 so its repeatedly trying to turn the starter (this usually unsticks it but difficult to get it right cause if u turn the key too much back ull have to start over) or hit the starter with a hammer that works as well.
