1.2 16v clio, 52 reg, been told that it needs a new throttle body/ies and that its going to cost me 411.25 :(:(:(:(

first off is this a good price?

and secondly, they said that it might not take, so could be a remap of sorts thats an extra 70 quid????? please can anyone help???? beginning to lose faith in my clio.

get one from a scrap yard and fit it yourself it won't be that hard. i fitted larger throttle body to my rover 25 and it took about 15 mins to fit

mine was four bolts and uncliping the accelerator cable. i'm a total novice when it comes to engines

really?? damn, well i will know for future reference i guess :S thanks mate

whats the deal with throttle bodies? heard talk of 2.0l guys modding them?? what do they do??

i will PM hairy, cheers

with the rover you could just swap the throttle body over to make the 84bhp model have 103bhp. it allows more air to be taken in thus giving you more power but you'd need remaps. you can buy enlarged throttle bodies from gdi ( i think ) but they are silly money. it cost my £20 on the rover lol
