knock noise when lift off Accelator

Hi all,

Just asking for some advice i have a 51 reg 172, occassionally i get a knock noise when i lift off the acelerator, either to brake or change down gear...dunno what it is, but sounds like its coming from the front drivers side area......

any ideas???

It sounds like the top engine mount on the drivers side to me. A common fault I've had fixed on my last two Clios. Although it's started doing it again recently.

If you potter along in first at a low speed then lift does it do it pretty much every time? Is so that's what it will be.

Yeah mate, that exactly it mate, how much did it cost u to get sorted?

Mine have always been under warranty.

30£ or something silly like that. I paid 130£ when both mine broke. Has to replace them with std parts too.

mine did it everytime when I first got it, cured itself though, not done it for maybe 20 months

my mums dynamique does this when your in traffic in first gear when you come off the accelerator it makes a little knock from the front drivers side.

Cheers lads, think i will wait and see if goes away.... not due another MOT and service until dec so that should pick it up then if any major problems
