knocking box or diff ???

i lost all drive on friday on my 172 took it to the garage
on saturday and found out it was those 2 clips on the diff
replaced them and car is running, but knocking like a biatch
even when idling until i put the clutch in , the knocking builds with the revs
im starting to think its the box noooo!!!!!!

anyone help , anyone got any ideas or had the same thing happen to them
please help

I'd say your box is going to need changin/stripping and and checking the broken clips have got into the diff possibly.

input shaft spinni/turning on idle.

check your box has been re-filled with oil ;-)

I had the exact same mate. Having a new box fitted today.

Not good!

I've just been to the garage and spoke to the bloke. There was tooth missing off the crown wheel. Needed a whole new box.

Wasn't to expensive.

My girlfriends dad did it, got a box from a breakers for £70. The box was newer than mine.

It sounds like yours is the same.

priced a box at renault for my 2002 172 $700 + vat
if it had esp $ 1293 + vat lol!
got my 172 just in time
