knocking full lock reversing *not like others with video*

  Focus RS + S3
i need help diagnosing a knock on my clio (believe it or not, a clio knocking)
ive searched many threads and its not like the noises described in any other thread

when full lock to the left and i reverse, the car moves back about half a foot and then 'clunks', it appears to be coming from the left of the car and doesnt seem to do it when locking to the right or pulling off forwards, it doesnt do it all the time however, and if you take your time doing say a three point turn it wont happen

ive took my coilovers off, springs are seated fine and arent snapped, ive put solid top mounts on, new ball joints and track rod ends and its still present, im fed up of it now. only next thing i can think of is driveshaft but all boots are fine with no grease leaks etc
would engine mounts cause it?

anyway heres a video

this was reversing uphill with the wheel locked left, you can hear the two knocks just after the bite point at 4 and 5 seconds

any help would be greatly appreciated as ive given up hope lol

thanks

shameless bump, i want to try and sort this myself so i dont have to take it to a specialist, my wallet could do without that this month lol

did it just randomly start doing it mate?
and have you got anywhere in diagnosing it?

thanks :)

Yeah don't know what's causing it, when the snows cleared up I'll take the wheel off and have a good look round, I was wondering if it was the cv joint or something

mine started knocking about a week ago which i think mines drive shaft or top mounts as i get a lil jolt through the car with my knock. yours sounds like something might be very slightly loose? might b worth just going over and making sure the topmounts, antiroll bars and subframe bolts are tight, or even just a quick spray of wd 40 around the top mounts imbetween the top of your coilovers and where it goes into your topmounts. iv had this noise on other clios and found these to be some of the causes. epecially if youve added all them suspension bits might just need loosening the above stuff and re-torqueing the bolts up to like reset it
hope this helps abit let me know how you get on :D

with the weather i havent been able to check anything, got friday off so will have a look then, i have read that a loose upper gearbox mounts could be loose so thats on my to check list :)

yeah true forgot about them, and theres also a thread on here about putting shims under the top mount nuts, as the top mounts hit the chassi in the wheel arch due to wear. but if youve got the solids mounts that you had to drill holes in the chassi to bolt the top mounts in then you shouldnt get that fault lol

Yeah i thought it was top mounts so i thought just buy solid and be done with it

Anothet suggestion ive found is the 4 steerin rack bolts become loose, so going to check this also

Ive found it only occurs when you near enough fully lock the wheels putting more 'load' on something and it cant cope so to speak is my theory lol, just got to find what "/
Ill Report back with my findings

yeah just go over all suspension stuff like i said and hopefully find the nobhead causing the noise lol. im about to go over mine and find out what my noise is been putting it of because knowing my luck it will be something expensive :banghead:
