Knocking/grinding noise 172????

Hi guys

Very annoying noise from my clio, boot it off in first and nine times out of ten it sounds like its grinding and knocking, im unsure if it is c.v related of engine mount, any ideas???

Knocking does sound like engine mount.

I'd try doing a search on here....you'll proabably find lots of mount related threads.

Sounds like your top mount i had the same prob mate all you need to do is get a 16mm scoket and ratchet and loosen off the four bolts on the black mount bracket and move it as far forward as pos and then tighten i have put in a pic to show you what i mean

Mine does/did it... exhaust hitting subframe under car.... engine mount related!!.. ^^ do above - also, under battery, mine keeps coming loose.... have to tighten it up every other month!!... there is a gearbox one under the car - get some polyflex bushes from K-tec!!... job sorted!!!..

Thanks for the response guys, il have a go at the engine mount and check the gearbox one, then see what the outcome is.
