knocking / growling / banging under harsh acceleration

Just wondering if I should be worried as there is a slight knocking / growling / banging (sound appears to come from passenger side front) as I accelerate harshly (reving very high) in 1st and 2nd gears. Any ideas what this could be?

its called character, its french after all

i believe its something to do with the engine/topmounts, most RS' do it, mine only in first

is that an expensive job?
I might send it in for service early and get it looked at at the same time. Service is not due for another few months.

Top mount i think you can do yourself, on an RS its next to the cambelt cover iirc... not sure on the others like........

ok cheers, i am crap at doing things myself. Is it something that needs to be sorted asap or is just what the clio does?

its something all of 'em do .. notmuch to be done , except maybe K-tec mounts ( the new ones )
