Knocking noise at low speeds?

Hi,

I noticed on my car today that when stationary/low speeds when i wiggle the steering wheel around there is a knocking noise coming from the drivers side wheel. It doesn't sound like the usual strut top knocking either.

Also it sounds like the wheel is being dragged rather than rolling when i do a low speed manouvre with a few turns on the steering wheel.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions what it could be? The cars going into Birchdown next Monday so ill get them to take a look i was just wondering if any of the more mechanically minded on the forum might have an idea what the noise is.

check the top mounts and cv joints plus pas fluid

I've got the same problem dude, it could be any of the above it would seem.

Ill go out in a little bit once the snows eased off and have a scout around the car and see what i can see. Failing that ill let Birchdown take care of it all lol

It's not gone in yet mate. I'm dropping it off with Birchdown tomorrow and they're doing my cambelt Tuesday and are going to have a look at the noise for me then. I'll post back with what the fault is Tue night all being well

Birchdown couldn't find anything at all on the suspension. lol i cant beleive it but the noise does seem to have gone now. Madness lol

Mine makes a knocking noise occasionaly, not got a clue what it is! Disappears for a bit then comes back, v.odd!

As for the 'skidding' on low speed manoueveres, i think that's just down to the 'sporty' set up. I suppose it might have something to do with the tyre camber on full lock and lack of road contact? Only a thought!

I'm going to have a look at mine this weekend and report what l find.Car is great on the move but sounds like a baggy ***** when turning tight !!
