knocking noise from engine area

Car  '52 clio dci
Im trying to locate/diagnose a knocking noise coming from the engine bay area, I think the noise is coming from the auxilary drive belt but Im really struggling to get the belt off. I can see a spring loaded tensioner, with two inverted torx bolts, do I need to undo these two bolts to relieve the tension??

The noise is very strange, when you initially start the engine its fine for 4-5 seconds but after that it starts to knock, sounds mettalic.

Can anyone advise how to remove this belt so I can test the engine without any ancillaires components rotating.

cheers lee
