Knocking noise from front of Cup

Its done little over 800 miles and theres a nasty sounding knocking noise coming from the front of the car (it wasnt there last week). Its most noticeable when crawling along in traffic. If Im in first or second gear at, say, 2000rpm or just under then lift off the throttle theres a pronounced "clunk" and it sounds like its high up in the engine bay right in front of the driver (that said, although it sounds like its coming from here, it could be elsewhere). Ive also ntoiced it sometimes when in reverse just at the point when the clutch is engaged. It doesnt seem to be linked to any kind of steering input.

Any thoughts on what this might be ?

Cheers.

Mine does that. Ive ignored it up untill now, but might go round the mounts with a socket set.

Keep me informed if you get it fixed!!

I get this - its a single clunk about half a second after the clutch is fully engaged in first or second gear. Its most pronounced when going up a hill at slow speeds. Never happens when you rev above 3k then change.

I have had the gerabox mounts changed due to another problem. Might be related.

If anyone finds anything out please let us all know.

Ive got exactly the same thing. Clonks if you come off the throttle or change gear at slow speeds in 1st or 2nd. I hadnt thought of taking it to have it looked at, but i might do now. It sounds to me like its the drivers side engine mount, the sound comes from that area of the engine bay.
