knocking when sterring left

As above in my van its knock when i turn the wheel left, any ideas lads?

cv.joint or might be a drive shaft if fwd.

Well turns out the spring must of been knackered, as it snapped on me yesterday going to work lol. luckil no damage done only a busted tyre.
