knocking?

i fitted my sportline springs yesterday morning and everything was fine, drove around for a bit and all seemed ok no funny noises or anything unusual, this morning gave the car a bloody good clean ready for some pics to put on here in the afternoon, after cleaning it i went for a drive, this is wen the noise has started to happen, wen i ease of the gas there is a knocking noise but as soon as i put my foot back down it stops. anythoughts of wat this could be? does it have anythinhg to do with me fitting the springs? i did fit everything back as it was so ?

You can only hear the noise in mine after about 35-40mph :S

Checked both and they were fine. Tightened them up just to be sure anyway and went for a drive.

Now I can hear it at about 25mph (again, when foot is off the gas)
Hard to describe the noise - a bit like the sound of running on a flat wheel :S

When tightening the top-mounts today, you could hear/feel movement in the springs - is that normal?

Yeah mate exact same happened me, maybe your springs are not fitted correctly or something is loose just give it a quick check over mine still does it but i'm going to try and sort it on monday after work

Got a good look underneath, my track rods are starting to go and there was a plastic cover hanging down in the left wheel-arch

Yeah it was there at one stage!

I'm thinking mine is something to do with the brakes - maybe a warped disc? :S

Check the anti roll bar bush's, mine knocked from the nearside but it was the bush on the offside that was worn

Just home, haven't had a chance to check much of the above yet but the noise is getting a lot worse and I've been told tonight you can feel the knocking in the passenger footwell.

You only hear it when you take the foot off the accelerator and it sounds like a bloody train!

PS - this mystery rumbling is a lot worse when cornering. Would a CV joint on the be on its way out?

Sounds like i've got something similar. Mine only happens when you hit 5k, usually in 2nd.

I'm stumped.

I changed my o/s driveshaft and it made no difference.

2 of my wheel bolts broke last night when I went to take the wheel off to re-check everything.
Mechanic told me that may of been what my noise was, as the cross-threaded bolts wouldn't of had the wheel on 100% tight.
