Knocking

Hi, I've got a knocking coming from each side on the back (2000 1.2). It seems to do it every time that side has the weight loaded onto it, for example if I turn right the left side knocks as the weight transfers and if I turn left the right side knocks. It seems to be much worse if I'm changing direction. It's quite a loud clunk

Any ideas what it could be and the best things to check?

things i would check are your breaks, springs, shocks and make sure all your nuts and bolts are all tight. other than that, im not sure what else there is to knock other than the bearings but that would be more of a constant sort of whining noise than a knocking.

lots it could be; as above, plus beam mounts, damper bushes, exhaust mounts, etc

assume you've not got something rolling around in the boot?!
