Does anyone else suffer from a loud knocking noise when accelerating round a bumpy corner, as after a year of going in and out of my local dealer I am starting to get a little p***ed off.
I get a knocking noise when at idle, I can feel it in the foot well too, particularly when I put the clutch down, I know Im not helping but was wondering if it could be the same thing, getting p1ssed off with it too as everytime its gone in to be sorted it doesnt do it !!!
sounds like a problem i had for a few months and several trips to the dealer, just got it sorted last week. it was an engine mount under the battery as most people on here suggested but reno refused to accept.
it started under hard acceleration on bumpy roads or round corners in lower gears. then as the months went on did it when ever it went to over 2k revs in any gear, sounded really bad and drove me mad. i also needed an engine torsion arm replacing as it had worn.
reno told me it was not covered on warranty as the mount is only covered for 1yr but others have had it done on warranty.
I have a very similar experience of knocking under heavy accelerating in the wet - have taken it to the dealers, however they said the engine mount was ok. I reckon they havent got a cleu and am taking it to another dealership.
I dont have ESP on my car and I am pretty certain that it is not the suspension as the knocking is comming from the centre of the engine bay. I know that one of the engine mounts is not central, I will try and post piccies later today to show you.
