Ktec 6K

on my little holiday iv been talking with a member off here, (not mentioning name) but he wants to get a 182 then the ktec 6k psml turbo conversion. . .and hes telling me he will be getting about 309bhp. . .this true?? or do u agree with my view that hes overestimating it?

he says that with ''his set up'' it will be 309. . .then he was going on about taking out m3's etc

There is about 2/3 different stages of the turbo, he is telling the truth. Could buy the turbod 172 with 300bhp off piston heads for 10k?

Dave has/had this kit on his 182 when he got it... I thought it was high 200's, but i suppose it varies depending on the car.

Don't bother I had the conversion £8000 con rods and pistons as well. They have bodged the ECU by using the standard non turbo ecu that comes with the car. My car runs crap. It has been back for a total of 4 weeks with Ktec but they still insist on using the wrong tools for the Job.

Ktec need to do it properly and use a proper ECU that understands boost and how turbo engines work. I have taked my car to other specialists, West Tunung at thruxton for example and they just laugh at what Ktec have done.

I am waiting for Dave to call me to put it right, he is fully aware of all the issues I am having. I am tried of chasing them now.

Lol. I was told about your boost controller.

Peak recall was nearly 2 bar. ;)

So Ktec are disclosing information about their customers ! very interesting, very intersting indeed.

Thanks

Still doesn't change the fact about the ECU

I am fully aware your cold running is still not spot on and posting on here the way you have is not going to make it any better.

Last time we spoke I informed you we were waiting on a new wiring loom to become available from Omex as we wold look at installing a new ecu on your car and tuning on a local rolling road to us. Which part of this did you not understand?

I would like to point out we have not had any issues of this type on any other conversion we have done, but likewise we have not had any other Clio turbo come back into us running nearly twice the boost pressure it was set at when it left us.

Also where did £8500 come from? By my calculations (and invoices) it comes to a lot less and that includes the new exhaust and electronic boost controller we supplied and installed. We have also never said a remap would cost £800 as that would be rediculous.

We have no intention of leaving a customer with a car the are unhappy with but I cannot speed up the production of a part we need to carry out the ecu installation, maybe you should have called to check on this before posting.

David.

Hardly a secret is it?

A reply to the original poster. 250bhp is easily achieved. I have had forged pistons and rods and plan on building a water spray system to cool inlet temperatures.

Then with a remap and little more boost 300bhp is achievable, but not for 6k. My engine rebuild was 3.5k so you would need to spend this ontop of the parts for the turbo conversion.

Thanks David, just get a little frustrated at my situation. I must have misunderstood your offer of the OMEX fix. If I had of understood this I would not be quite so frustrated. As I have stated on other posts I am exteremely impressed with all of the engine rebuild work, not an oil leak in site. It is just a shame that ECU issues over shadowed that part.

I apologise for misunderstanding the situation, everyone deserves a chance to put things right.

I look forward to getting this sorted out.

i thought the omex had to be used with the turbo conversion neway? why would they use the original ecu

Seems to be standard practice with k-tec and bbpt using a fast chip map.

I would think omex would be easier to play around with though.
