Ktec Supersport Stealth

I'm after changing the exhaust on my 172 cup for something more free-flowing.

Is there a list anywhere of the noise-levels of aftermarket exhausts - I don't want anything that'll prevent me from doing any trackdays.

The car currently has an OEM cat, which will probably stay for the moment. From reading previous posts noise levels that people have measured seem to vary between 86db and 97db which is a huge variation.

Can anyone help?

I have a k tec supersport stealth dude and is so loud ! Dont know about db reading for tracks but it is very loud on mine with a decat

stealth just means it's hidden behind the bumper I believe?

Just found this on the Ktec website, I assume this is WITH the OEM cat fitted:

Q: Is the exhaust suitable for trackdays with their noise requirements or is the super quiet model more suited?
A: You will be fine with either the sports or supersports version of the stealth system (louder with no centre silencer) at most, if not all UK race circuits. The louder of the two versions, the supersports has a static idle of approx 75db(A) & at 4500rpm 85db(A) At Castle Combe which is one of the strictest on noise limits for their track days the maximum noise limit is 100db(A) which is measured 1/2 metre from the exhaust outlet at 4500rpm. All race circuits should have such information on their websites you can can check before you book.

That doesn't see tooo bad then. maybe it's the de-cat that gives the extra noise?

You really must get the one with the centre silencer if you've de-catted, as I found, its just too loud without imo.

Ktec's figures are way out. Mine was 97db at my last track day with the cat in

I've just found out that mine has some sort of aftermarket exhaust on, all be it with a 'small' centre silencer but the car is very quiet. Think I'll start with a de-cat with a silencer to be safe, and look for a ktec stealth in the future. Thanks for your help
