Ktec zorst + decat = very noisy

just put my decat on that was nicely made by lunner (nice one on the build quality. not being sarcastic either mate)

I had an old catalytic converter on there that was just hollow so in theory it was a straight thru pipe, but caused a nasty vibration on the gear stick.

Changed it today, and the exhaust sounds extremely loud at 2.5k and around 4k, so much so i dump my clutch the minute i see a van with flourecent stripes up it.

Does this happen to anyone else, or am i suffering from a problem

Ill get a sound recording of it asap

Mine sounds very loud when dricing and i have supersprint manifold de-cat and an ashley exhaust but when i had it sound tested at castle combe on thursday it was recorded at 98.8 dB

do u know what the limit is on dB wise, coz if the police tug me and turn around n say its too loud, i dont really fancy fart arsing about with all the hassle.

all i know is, it seems to attract nova boys and saxos big time, until they see flames pop out the exhaust one thing i love about my RT, lots and lots of pops and flames

Ive dropped down and booted it away from a traffic cop, and my cars gotta be pushing 100+ db easy.

yup ^^^ my supersprint is noisy as f**k and ive tw*tted it past coppers before and never got pulled

There are some animal kit cars and things about, they have got to be louder than any Clio Ive ever heard......... youll be fine mate.

Only time I worry about my car (full system + decat) being too noisy is when I come home late night/early morning and everyones asleep - normally drop it out of gear at the top of the road and coast down to my house

i had a full mongoose on my escort rs turbo and all the neighbours used to complain about it wakeing them up in the mornings etc. so much so i collected a fair few nails in my tyres. didnt find out why did it

Yeah mine is as nopise as f**k, sounds really great in underground car parks, or when you blast it throuhg narrow roads wiht houses rihgt up on either side

^^Defo!!^^ got a tunnel about a mile away and i did about 5 laps of it coz i loved the sound!!

Miss the noise of my original K-Tec system and straight thru de-cat. Ive got the cat on at the minute and its just so quieter!

Changing it back soon!

BTW, theres nothing coppers can do about you having a noisy exhaust. Just dont go bombing it round residential areas at 2am or theyll do you for causing a nuisence
