Kwik-Fit / Royal Sun Alliance will only sure one modification?

I've got a policy with Kwik-Fit / Royal Sun Alliance with a declared exhaust mod. I've called them to ask if I can put a strut brace on (came with the car) and they said I would have to change insurers as Royal Sun Alliance will only insure a car with no more than one mod. Then they gave me their best quote of £1200!! £700 more than what I'm paying with RSA.

Anyone insured with Kwik-Fit/RSA with more than one mod?

strange. my knowledge of them (the rsa group) rsa, more than e.t.c was that you were allowed to do any mods as long as it didnt affect performance. then any performance mods had added premium.

infact im sure as a friend has a punto sporting with loads of mods with more than iirc and more than are part of RSA. give them a call back.

Tell them to shove their policy where the sun doesn't shine and then phone a proper insurance company.

If you are looking at modifying your car mid-policy, it pays to choose your insurer wisely at the beginning of the policy, ie check what they will be like for future mods.

My company for example would not charge any extra for adding the strut brace
