Apart from dodgy idling etc are these worth changing due to old age? I think im running the originals and one is smashed to pieces but as its the one after the cat from what im read this does very little anyway.

I was thinking of buying a replacement sensor for the pre cat hole and moving the current pre cat to post cat to replace the broken one, is this pointless or worth £50?

LAMBDA is critiacal to correct running of the engine

with age the sensors do degrade, but a simple diagnostic check will assertain the functionality of the sensor

your correct in the downstream sensor only checks for correct opperation of the CAT, but will of course leave your toxic emsions light on (bottom right light)

a new one upstream is a good idea if your in any doubt
