Lancer Evolution Appreciation Thread

I had a hoot on Tuesday picking the car up from the unit. The back roads around Horsham are a blast. It's what the car is for!
Ever thought about doing an MLR Sprint?

I used to go to watch a lot of them, but never had the balls to do a sprint in mine as i was earning peanuts at the time and wouldnt have been able to repair any major damage like a rod letting go, and it was my daily.

lol! No way mate. If money being no object, sure I'd love to give it a try. Envy people with the nous/money to. I wouldn't do it to this one, though

Picking car up from Dynotech now, £500 is le damage.

Can't use the Lamco OEM gauges as there is no oil temp sensor, Mitz only sell it as a complete unit and it's £700 for the gauges from them 😧

Lol - reminds me a bit of when my mate and I went to Cholmondeley's Pageant of Power one year. It had been drizzling all weekend and the car-park was just assigned to fields.

Definitely gave it some 2nd gear boosting then - and the hi-vis'd parking attendants were non-too happy - telling me to stop it. The Evo was just so controllable in its slides and proper, proper fun to boot. Let's face it - an Evo wears grass and mud splatters as well as Kelly Brook in lingerie.

Sparkly shiny Evos aren't what they are about!

What you had done mate?

Nothing exciting, 4K service, trackrod ends, brake pads. Just dropped it off at the unit where it will stay for a few weeks till it goes back into the body shop for the bonnet.

Nothing that will give a proper reading on the oil temp gauge, no! Bob is going to let me know if a 360 comes in with the sump plug and doesn't need the gauges.

The car was filthy when I dropped it with the storage place, wouldn't have time to clean it this weekend, though :x

Standard Misti gauges are not accurate even with a Misti oil temp sensor.

I'm not sure how 'out' it would be, but Grants off MLR was pretty confident that without the right one from Mitsubishi, you might as well be pissing in the wind with it. Maybe I can replace the gauge itself. Think they're 45mm

Get over onto evom as a lot of the US cars have them fitted, someone will have one. I shipped over 20+ sets back in the day.

My insurance renewal came through today. 1,159 lol. Claiming last year has knocked it up quite a bit...
Need to let them know it's currently being stored in an ex military compound with floor alarms and 45 cameras. Should knock it down 50 quid...*rolls eyes

Yeah boiii, Paul at Mitzy-Art had a sensor that had been taken off an old FQ360 that had the gauges removed.
