Laptop battery won't accept full charge

My laptop battery won't charge above 70% now is there a way of totally flattening it so I can charge it up again?

Some laptops have a built in utility built in the bios to do this, but its quite rare. Other than leaving it turned on till it runs out completely a few times you can't do much more.

Take out and connect it upto something?

Leave the laptop on doing something CPU and memory intensive.
