no blue screen today, just the following options

safe mode
safe mode with networking
safe mode with command prompt
last known good configuration (advanced)
start windows normally

30sec count down

i select any of them it just restarts and goes back to that menu

Does it have a sticker on the bottom of the laptop still with the product key? It should also tell you what version of Windows 7 it was running.

there's a microsoft sticker, but its knackered, has X15-53758 on one bit

doesn't matter what version, boot from cd > repair > fixboot and fixmbr and check disk and it'll boot up reet.

Prolly got all sorts of shite on it LOL

You have a legit CD key, you just need a CD you can try and repair from (or rebuild if needed).
