Laptop help needed

My current Packard bell laptop has died. The Power socket in the lap top has shorted out and melted. This in turn has damaged nearly everything else.

I can run the laptop off the battery but the screen cuts out when its gets warm.

Now my battery is flat. Is there anything i can get to charge the battery just so i can turn my laptop on for long enough to recover my files off it?

Cheers guys seems caddy's are cheap. Guessing my laptop has a 2.5" drive

More than likely mate.

I think if its a Sata drive, it might hook straight into using a harddrive cable, I stress think but i remember doing this with a vaio harddrive.
