Laptop Not detecting Hard Drive.

  Shed.
So, ive got this shitty laptop ive been asked to look at.

Its fucked.

Basically, there is no hard drive detection from within the BIOS (Its set to auto). When i run windows setup it wont detect it either (Dur). Pehonix Bios too ffs.

What can i do.

There is no floppy drive so its unlikely i will be able to load drivers. Its quite old and she was going to buy a new one but being the silly fucker i am ive been asked to look at it first. Im guessing the hard drive is dead, but i want to make sure that its not just been assraped by a virus.

Would it be worth trying to reset the cmos? I dont really want to open the thing up either.

If you've got another laptop hard disc, wack that in it any try to boot. If it works, you know the hard disc is dead!
