laptop problem

when writing on my laptop the screen goes dull when i pull the screen up it goes bright again and back and forth - its starting to do my tits in

any idea what the problem is

Would have thought it's the connection cable/ribbon between the keybaord half and the monitor half.

Not sure how easy it would be to fix diy.

I'd stay clear of PCWorld. They'll probably either charge you a fortune or try to convince you to buy a new laptop.

I'd have a word with a local small computer shop.

What make and model is it?

Try aaronc on here. He might be able to help. He does pcs and laptops.

you wanna send the laptop to me, i have loads of experience of taking laptops apart. I have alook see what i can do, does sound like the cable tho is loose.
