Last night..

I pulled up next to a 182, nice set of 17 inch rims personalised plate. He looked over, then looked away.

I went off the lights then obviously saw it was a cup and went himself. I saw him indicate to go into a pub so I pulled in to, thought him might want a quick chat (as you do I suppose)

But no, one word answers, no interest at all. Maybe he was thinking I should have bought the faster clio instead!! (Joke)

Would most of you on here take an interest for a 5 minute chat? or have an attitude about it

Spoke briefly but all he had to say for himself was that he didnt do geeky internet sites and that his cup could waste a full fat 172. however it depends on whos asking, i used a jet wash a while ago and some bloke decided to come talk to me who had an old escort, he kept saying i should get some certain chip, he went on and on and about his escort being well fast untill i got fed up and just pretty much ignored him

fair enough he was being friendly, but some of what he was saying was aload of crap

however if someone came up to me and asked some decent questions etc then fine good stuff

as for internet site, priceless imo, get loads of info so you dont get mugged and save you lots of money on lots of different things, get 2nd hand parts instead of being stupid money, soo many benefits imo

It depends on the situation, id be a bit freaked to be followed into a car park. if they had a RS sticker or i got a good buzz from them and happend to be in the same place by chance then a quick chat would be ok.

Yeah - Id defo have a chat! Especially if a club member.

I get quite p*ssed off with waving at fellow 172/182 owners and getting blank responses. I know its only a Clio, but why not... people dont care do they. V.sad.

Ive been followed when I had the Ibiza as the guy was from seatcupra.net which was a bit odd, but he was a sound bloke. But if I got a bad feeling from somebody Id be v cautious. If the guy had the same car I imagine it would be because of some owners club or internet forum, it just depends on what kind of vibe you get from them...

When i had my 106gti i came across a saxo that wanted to play, after a couple of miles he pulled into a petrol station and i followed him in, we complemented each other on our cars and arranged to meet a little further up the road and had a chat for about 10 mins, turned out his car was supercharged and he went on the ssc forum and knew people i did, since then ive seen him at a rolling road day and chatted on the forums.

When i owned a mini and passed other mini drivers there was always a flash of lights and a wave, done it a couple of times in the 182 but dont seem to get a responce.

I would chat to people if they shared the same intrest, but if they wanted to nick my car then i would not. A lad in a blue clio about an L reg flashed and waved at me, i thought WTF then i twiged a fellow clio driver so i waved back. This is the only person to acknowlege me. I have flashed other 172/182 driver et and i have had funny looks

i say hello to every clio driver i come across who seems friendly or in awe of the fact its not a 1.2. round here theres millions of the 1.2 and most look up to the 182. pulled up at some lights and had a chat with a 172 owner about 2 weeks ago. i would of spoke to you defo. cant stand people who buy a car that they hve no interest in

I get people come up to me and talk to me about my car. Usually revolves around the unusual colour and the condition.

Sometimes at Jap meets people recognise it from the owners club and come and speak to me.

Not where I live, if someone follows you its usually to give you a lamping.

Id find it a little bit aggresive if someone followed me for apparently no reasons. Once i knew it was to chat about a car, then id be fine.

Pulled up in Bluewayer with the missus, had a bloke and his missus pull up 2 car spaces away, they simply got out, locked the doors then walked off.

Doesnt have be a clio theres respect out there on the roads with most "drivers cars" Its nice to give a salute to other clios...dont get one back? Maybe it took them by surprise and theyll salute the next clio...Im in a really good mood today.
