Leaking fuel sender unit?

Hi, has anyone experienced a dodgy fuel sender unit leaking from around the cap?

It's filling the car with horrible fumes and its horrible.

Ive changed the screw lid and it seems to be sealing properly, the lid is screwed on tight unless the seal isn't sealing or on properly.

Need a sanity check to make sure I'm not doing something stupid.

Anyone any ideas? Cheers

Did you do it with a full tank? The weight distorts it.
But regardless, they're a dick to do.

They're f**king awful Dan, what tool did you use to tighten it?

I had to make one in the end to get mine on tight, bit of box section with two smaller bits to grip either side of the ring
