Well after all the snow had melted i thought it would be fun to get out on the bike..and it was!
Had a great ride with plenty of water and muddy tracks.
Then on one track there is a small stream that runs across it. the water was clear so i planned my route through the shallow part as the water was so high due to the melted snow. This photo is taken once i went through.
So i went to the end of the track and then went back through the water and back to the start. It was a pretty good ride so i thought i would do it again, although i didnt want to go through the water as my boots filled with water and it was pretty cold. So i went to turn around and couldnt pull the bike back with my legs while sitting on the bike. So i thought i would just go off the side of the path though the over growth and turn around. Well i didnt realise that the water was so high and stalled. Then when i kicked it over i was just kicking it lower and lower into the sand and water. tried to pull away and dug myself deeper.
tried wedging sticks under the tyre but nothing. i then almost panicked as i was about a mile from the nearest house. started getting the sweats and took all my gear off. i even started digging the sand out under water but that did nothing. In the end i managed to shake the bike free and dragged it out the water after 40 mins of trying everything.
Only damage was the mirror came loose.
My lesson was learnt, ride with a buddy! It was only the adrenalin and panic that gave me the strength the move the thing!
