LED wiring

I have just installed LED footwells and installed a SPDT switch so i can switch them on with the interior light, off, and on permanently.

However when i first wired them up, they didnt work right with the interior light, they stayed on permantely.

Quickly i noticed that when the interior light goes off, the live stays on and its the negative that disconnects which allows the light to go off.

So due to that, and all my earth wired up to the battery i cant have the interior light working. AND the permanent on the same switch.

How can i work around this. If only the live switched off on the interior light instead of the negative

Wire a switch on the negative side to a seperate negative?

B+ direct to LED. 3 position switch for ground: leave 1 blank, 1 to common ground and the other to the interior light switched ground. That way you have off/on/interior switched.
