LED With Ignition Off.

Hi, If you wanted a LED to be on when the ignition is off could you just wire it to the perm & ignition wires going to the cd player? So when the CD player is on it won't work and when it is off it will use the ignition as a ground?

Or could this damage the CD Player?

The permanent going to the cd player is live all the time even with the ignition on

You'd have to make a little controller that only lights the LED when the switched 12v is off
