Lets see your Fireworks thread...

  vers le haut doigt milieu
As its was the anniversary of the guy who tried to blow up Parliament yesterday and bottle rockets have resounded all over the Chiltern valley this morning I was hoping I would post a thread to get you all to post your best pictures from this weekends various spectaculars. I'm planning to go to the Mayors Show at 18:00 on the south bank and runn back up to my local for their show at 21:00 and by Sunday I will post them.

I know the best ones in this town are on Saturday at Blackheath (which is the best), Alexandra Palace, Ravenscourt Park and Ealing. (more can be found here http://www.viewlondon.co.uk/blackheath-fireworks-display.aspx)

Also If you have been to any yesterday on the 5th then it would be great to see some of your bests. I know people are gonna be firing rockets and lighting cakes all the way past this weekend so I wanna see some hot ones.

If you can post the ISO, SP and AP on them it would be good to know just how you got them.

Thanks and lets see some goodens'.

Good idea, I'll be going to the Alexander palace one but I'm not going to take my tripod or anything as I find if I'm trying to take pictures I don't actually "enjoy the moment" if that makes sense.

I'll have the camera on hand so if I do get any goodun's I'll post them up...

Very nice mate, they have given me an idea and now I cant wait to see what I get when I use a star filter. Hopefully the VR should help me keep it hand held for 6 secconds in the cold!

Thanks for the comments everyone:)

They look good.

Why does it look deserted where you are? Looks like it was a decent display.

It was mate, I got lucky with where I was stood - there were some spotlights on the fence which had a triangular bit of barrier around them, I just set the tripod up within it...there was probably at least a couple of thousand stood along the quayside

Turns out though that it looks like the fireworks set part of the pier alight, knocking out power from / to two turbines & the lighthouse.....Whoops!

Mine failed miserably on my camera, it doesn't like rain.

Got some good ones with my mates camera as secondary though.

I was so confused there. Read the first post and the date and didn't realize it was 2008.

Thought i was stuck in a time warp with everyone moving on and i was still on 5/11/09

Ditto for a few seconds.... Nice to be back in reality!

I went lo-fi this year, bolted the gorillapod on and put my camera on the floor (without framing things up), switched it to remote and pressed my ML3 occasionally. Had no idea what I shot 'till I got home or even if I managed to catch any fireworks.

A bit odd, but got plenty of normal firework shots so wanted to do something different without missing the actual watching of the display bit of the evening, 3 out of 20 came out in the end...

Went to the last of the firework displays I can be bothered to go to this year and I took the camera and tripod :D. Here's the best out of about 50 pictures, more to come when I sort them all out properly.
