lets see your tyres ..., 45 v 50 !

  Italian 3.2 V6
i have my new 15" wheels arriving this week. and am on the hunt for tyres. really want the toyo R888s, but to pricey for me atm :( (no1 will buy my ph2 172 alloys) so i am gona have to put up with budget tyres for a month or 2 until i can afford the toyo R888s.

The main aim for the car is to be set-up for the english B-roads. which is why i erge towards the 50s (more suitable tyre wall size) but on the other hand i dont know how big a difference a 45 will make against a 50. plus the 45 look far better on a 15" wheel (lower profile) than a 50.

so any advice wether is really makes a noticable difference would be great!

PLease post pics up of your clio wearing either 195-45-R15 or 195-50-R15, also please state which size yours is wearing!!

Cheers Piers.

If you fit 888's on a daily driver you will die.

50's are perfect. 45's are a waste of cash.

(i have 195/50 R15's Toyo T1-R's @ £28 each, see below.)

Believe it or not I know a bloke who fitted a set of R888's to his 996 Turbo S, and drove it to glasgow and back in the wet. How it didn't just go round in circles I'll never know.

TBH the R26 has 888s on, and did anyone see the review of it on 5th gear, in the wet ;)

They are optional on the R26.R and require a 90 degree c operating temperature (minimum) and must be stored at 30 deg c when not in use.

Pretty much useless as a road tyre.

on topic....

mine's on 50 profile. didn't even consider 45 as it would change the rolling radius of the wheel from standard.

195/50/15 goodyear eagle f1 gsd3, perfect size for a 15" wheel otherwise the wheel looks too small imo
