This was dropped off last week for a tart up. It was a mess.
I was told it was loaned to a friend who molested it. "It can't be that bad" I thought. My god I was wrong.
Overspray, take note of matte bonnet
??
Spray on corner of bonnet?!
I wondered what colour these were underneath
Randomly matte wing mirror
I hate this adhesive crap
Faded plastics. Granted, there was only three pieces of plastic on this to fade.
After I had a looksee and cracked straight on with it. Rinsed, sprayed with RDS and left to dwell
While that was dwelling I imperialed the wheels, agitated and sprayed them
Turns out they're anthracite. 1 : 3 imperial dilution works wonders!
Rinsed the RDS off the car and lathered it. I lathered the nooks and crannies a lot so I could agitate them.
There was a build up of what looked like bird s**t in here somehow. Attacked with RDS and verso.
As was this
The engine was verso'd and wiped. The bag is keeping a tuning box dry. I thought wtf too.
Door shuts done. Dat interior!
Next the car was hit with TARdis and iron x. No TARdis pics as it was nigh on impossible to picture.
That said, so was iron x
Washed and rinsed to make way for clay
Wasn't expecting it to be this clean.
I figured I'd set to work finishing the spray job someone did on it while it was still wet.
I took the overspray off the headlight too
And dried
Busted out the £11 sun gun
Much marring, RDS and swirls
It was the same across the whole car, I taped it up ready for polishing.
Headlight first. G3 scratch remover via AF #1 pad
This was a right pain in the arse, I ended up settling on G3 scratch remover and finished with G3 paint renovator on a soft buff finishing pad. I was very impressed with the finish and the lack of dust.
It brought the paint up brilliantly
It looked much better but the spray was hiding these horrid RDS. I hit it again with scratch remover and finished with paint renovator.
I didn't believe it was finishing so well so I gave it a 1:3 IPA wipe which showed it wasn't just filling the swirls in
Moved around the car, since it wasn't as bad as the bonnet I only used paint renovators which brought the colour back while cutting out the lighter swirls and finishing brilliantly.
The only panel with holograms.
Paint renovator didn't correct it to my liking so AF #2 combo was used and paint renovator to finish
Genuinely no idea what happened here, no paint transferred to the pad so it's not new paint like on the bonnet
Much better
Waxed with desire
And that summarises my Saturday.
Sunday saw me tackle the interior.
Started with hoovering.
Then tested verso on the stained side of the footwell
It worked great so I did the whole side.
Verso was also used to get the majority of the muck off the leather
After Verso got the majority of the crap out of the leather and carpets, I used simoniz leather wipes and auto glym interior shampoo to get the rest of the muck off the leather.
I went over the leather again with AF hide conditioner
Then I did the plastics in auto finesse revive
Tyres done in AF satin
Some befores and afters
As it's been waiting for collection for almost a week and I live on a main road, it's picked up a fair bit of dust. It needs a quick rinse and finale wipe down then I'll put some more finished pics up.
Cheers
