Lexus lights spoil your warranty - PROVEN

Dash lights went - blown fuses or wiring - went to get it fixed and they charged me coz it was the lexus lights I fitted that blew or shorted the ciricuit - I knew that! So be warned with any other problems your warranties are as they say in show business - over!

no - only engine, suspension, mechanical things should affect your warranty - cosmetic changes shouldnt - ie clear side repeaters, silver vision bulbs, bees ting aerials, rear light clusters etc

Had the same problem all lights stopped working, Lexus lights had caused the problem i never got charged though.

THe guy came out said nice car lets have a listen to your system said it was the lights fault but it was sorted know?!!!

It probably depends on whether you take your car to a main dealer, e.g. Renault Edinburgh or a franchised one. e.g. Abercromby Renault. I dont think the franchised places worry what you have done to your car (within reason) and dont mind that you have bought an import either!

I have experience of both, and I know which garage I prefer. Apparently the service charges appear to be cheaper at the franchised garages too!

quick warranty question - i have to have my bonnet release cable changed because mine has snapped, is it covered under warranty because i have also fed 2 other wire through the grommet it uses to enter the engine bay?

help someone please - my dealer wont give me an answer until they have a look at the car (next friday is the earliest they can get it in)

i had to use 4ga cable, the audison amp has to be run at 7ga or larger

IMHO lexus lights should only be put on lexi (lexus)

I went to a main dealer in penarth Road Cardiff with mine no hassels.

Well i havent got lexus lights i got clear rear clusters;)

personal taste aint it!

what clear lights? Didnt know any one made them! £300 no way would i pay that

i was just joking i got "LEXUS STYLE" lights just joking saying they were clear.

i quite like my lights...not everyones cup of tea...but they look good!

no one is forcing you to put them on your car?

Tell renault to fook off! They will blame anything they can instead of their fault product. Did they happen to show how a wire was cut or damaged ina very convenient place? Thats what I have seen in the past. Thats why I always stay with my car when it is having work done, that way if they have a problem they can speak to me straight away, and have a harder time bullsh!tting me.

What exactly "caused" the problem (how were the clusters to blame)

Sorry to have to reply to this post in a negative manner but the lights you have fitted were not supplied by or fitted by Renault but YOU still expect them to pay for modifications that cause problems with the original vehicle wiring.

How can you expect them to fix your electrics under warranty if you know that the fault was directly caused by your mods? Dont understand what youre upset about.

OK if your wheel bearings went it would be unreasonable to blame that on your Lexus lights, but you said yourself that you KNEW the lights had blown or shorted the circuit.
