light weight clio 16v .......

  ExigeV6|Q5|DS3|Fiat

If you strip your clio down ie. seats out, unecessary items removed etc,

Do you have to inform your insurance company?

cheers

aaron

Wow! I really hope not, but are you absolutely sure as Im really tempted to remove the rear seats completely and Ive got this nagging feeling that theyll say its modified - (they specifically asked how many seats it has, so I thought that removing 3 of them might not go down well!)

I suppose they cant prove that you werent just on your way back from delivering a piano to someone, can they, so maybe its possible to get away with it???

Cheers

Matt

No you dont have to tell your insurance company but think it would be a good idea to inform DVLA that the car is a two seater and not a 4 seater

Took my seats out today. Just left the carpet in. Looks pretty good actually. Can keep my back leather seats in good nick now. I got pics if someone can host em for me!!

really. I did it for fuel economy :p.

I think sayin u took em out to carry stuff is fair enough

The seats are designed to be removeable, its not as if you have to break out the spanners to strip the rear of the car. So no insurance company in the world could claim that you d done a permanent mod to the car just by taking the backseats out. Of course, if like me youve not only taken the seats out but also all the seatbelts, and fitted 4 point harness mountings into the rear seatbelt points, then maybe theyll catch on...

Looks a bit better with the carpet in

I took it out for the full stripped out affect hehe.

Seems a bit more pokey being lighter like. Fookin loud though!!!

bolt em down then mate!

Seems a shame takin it out really. Got factory grey leather. Keeps it tidy though.

Yeah the problem is it gets loud without the rear in. Youll need to put some sound deadening down then carpet over it.

will have to get some pics of mine, the front end looks the best, wonder how they would react to nothing at the front of the car apaprt from an engine?

ah, but sound deadning, especially things such as dynamat or brown bread is extreemely heavy......

leave it as it is, ear plugs are cheaper.
