It is your coolant temp warning light...

The book says:

If this lights up when the vehicle is being driven, it indicates that the engin is overheating. Stop and allow the engin to run idle speed for a min or two. The temp should drop, if it doesnt allow the engine cool before checking the coolant level. Call for assistance of Renault dealer if necessary.

Could be a load of reason most common problem is the TDC sensor failing.
