Lights... interior, boot and numberplate bulbs :D

  Clio Sport 182
Okay so I took out the bulbs of my boot and my numberplate but haven't got out my interior lights yet. Does anyone have any idea of the bulbs I need in order to replace these as I am looking to make them all white LED's... any ideas? Many Thanks.

If you have the map light, it's two W5W (501) bulbs.

If you don't have the map light, you need to be handy with a soldering iron to solder in two bulbs, one opposite polarity to the other. 38mm Festoon. Or you can just get the maplight!

EDIT: I think the bulbs posted above for the map light are a little weedy, I use CREE ones normally.

I've got a crappy flippy one in the trophy, easy swap for a spot light style one? Something I miss about my FF!!

I thought the bulbs you suggested for the maplight were the ones you use, which IMO are a bit dim.

In terms of lighting the standard interior light I just had 16SMD festoons, jacked together like so: (one is reversed)

But I suspect you can get away with 2 24 or 36 SMD panels next to each other (easier to solder actually), I've got 2x 48smd panels here but they're just too wide to get 2 into the holder.

... But it's still far easier to just do the maplight conversion lol.

f**k it yea, I'll just buy a map light. Should have took it out of my 1.2 before I sold it :( Nah the ones I use are 38mm festoons. The ones in my original post under boot leds.

And cheers mate :)

Is the map light really that better? I have the flip-style and it seems pretty good, i was just going to get a very bright light for it!
I might go for a scavange round some dead clios to get a map light, Dash dimmer, spare vents and other goodies!

The flip style light is way better imo, after experiencing both as it allows for a bigger bulb. But it's a pain in the arse running led's in them as you have to do what McGherkin mentioned further up.
